Mike, since you are using 0.12.3, there is a good amount of chance that you are
hitting HADOOP-1152 or HADOOP-1183 (HADOOP-1270 addresses HADOOP-1183 under the
covers). Both these fixes will be there in the 0.13 release. This is not to say
that there could not be other issues.
