I don't think so - I was actually worrying about the cost of introspection too.
I think it'll be OK - as Owen says, the serializer will be cached - but I think
we should do some benchmarking before any code is accepted.
Speaking of code, I hope to have something to show fairly soon, and I hope it
will help focus on the issues that we're not sure we're agreeing on :)
