+1 to this issue. I think we should:
* include forrest libs in our subversion
* not include these libs in our tar.gz release
* add a doc target that runs the other related doc targets AND runs forrest IF
forrest libs are available
As a follow on, we should add this target to our patch process so we can test
the compilation of forrest patches.
