Stu Hood commented on HADOOP-2166:
----------------------------------
My main class extends ToolBase, and is executed using ToolRunner. As far as I
can tell, none of those classes call System.exit(), and neither does my code.
> HBase shell JAR command kills shell
> -----------------------------------
>
> Key: HADOOP-2166
> URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HADOOP-2166
> Project: Hadoop
> Issue Type: Bug
> Components: contrib/hbase
> Affects Versions: 0.15.0
> Reporter: Stu Hood
> Priority: Minor
>
> After the JAR command runs successfully, it kills the shell, but any
> exceptions cause the shell to remain open.
> Instead the shell should remain open in all cases so that it is not necessary
> to relaunch the shell to rerun the JAR.
