I agree that it seems a little-out-of-place to put the static conversion method
in the Configuration class, especially because it deals with dfs parameters
only. One alternative would be to put the static conversion method in utils and
then call this conversion utility from the constructors of NameNode, DataNode,
JobTracker, TaskTracker and DFSClient.
This approach will not pollute the general-purpose Configuration class with
application specific conversion methods while keeping the dfs/mapreduce
conversion logic in one central place.
