Welcome to the Haifux Updates CD for RedHat Linux 9.0!
This is version 9.0-1 of the updates CD from 21 October 2003.
Please contact <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> if you have problems with this CD.
The updates CD enables you to install a fully patched RedHat Linux 9.0
system with special additional packages for Hebrew, games, and multimedia
support. In addition, the CD contains AIDA diagnostic software for Windows
users and a bootable RIP rescue system for paritioning and maintenence.
IMPORTANT: This CD is for RedHat Linux 9.0 only, and would probably not work
with any other GNU/Linux distribution.
If you have not yet installed RedHat Linux 9.0, please do the following:
- (optional) Run AIDA (from the AIDA directory) to gather your hardware
information, and keep this information available.
- Repartition your drive and free space for Linux. This can be done by
booting this CD and using the RIP rescue system.
- Copy "ks-cdrom.cfg" to a file named "ks.cfg" on a new floppy disk.
- Insert the first installation CD of RedHat Linux 9.0 and restart your
system
- Type "linux ks=floppy" in the boot prompt, and insert the floppy with
"ks.cfg".
- Complete the installation process. Do not specify any extra CDs.
- Follow the instructions for an already-installed system below.
If you have an already installed RedHat Linux 9.0 system, change to the root
directory of the CD (usually "cd /mnt/cdrom"), switch to root using "su",
and then run "./install" to install the updates and additions.

ks-ftpcs.cfg KickStart config file with pacakage selection, to install
from ftp.cs.technion.ac.il.
ks-ftplocal.cfg KickStart config file with pacakage selection, to install
from the Insta. party local server.
rip.bat Batch file to start RIP for Windows users.
updates Official RH9.0 errata. Mostly security updates.
