IIRC, we agreed that if an installee wants something other than the official distro, the installee can have that, provided that there is no stress. I have already heard of 2-3 people who are specifically interested in Debian. Since the Intro to OS course recommends this year to install VMware, and only recommends installing Linux for real if the student is interested, I am not sure we will be that stressed. Hence, I see no reason to swear aligance to the RH.
