I used ivritex (it is installed as elatex, but it is somehow different).

I got showed fine on Linuces (it was RH 7.1 and 7.3 at the time) (using
xpdf), but
Acrobat Reader on Window had huge problems with it. It also printed fine
using ps.

Mind you, you must remember to use "dvips -G0 -Ppdf *.dvi" (that was G
zero, not G O), or any pdf will not show properly, not just Hebrew.
