Here are some things that interest me; note that most of them do not relate to Culmus in particular, but rather to fonts in general. What are the differences between various font formats such as the various PostScript types, TrueType, OpenType, Multiple Masters, and Knuth's metafont? What are the advantages and disadvantages of each format, and what are the reasons for choosing one format over another for particular applications? What tools are available for creating fonts in various formats? How do free tools compare to proprietary ones? How does PfaEdit work? How much "metaness" does it allow? How does it compare to metafont? What tools are used to convert fonts from one format to another? What is lost in the conversion? What design decisions were made in creating the Culmus fonts? Which options were considered? Why was this particular set of fonts implemented? What influenced the design itself? I too want to thank Maxim for his contribution. I can't wait for the stable version, at which point we could create a stable set of TeX metrics for the fonts and fully integrate them into TeX. -Ron. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Haifa Linux Club Mailing List (http://www.haifux.org) To unsub send an empty message to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
