Chapter 11 in the "Linux kernel development" talks about the subject.
And chapter 12 in "Understanding the linux kernel".
And part of chapter 8 in "Unix internals, the new frontiers"

At least the first one, I think, has a nice introduction to the subject, but I guess 
there is still a long way from reading it to implementing a file system.

Off course, a lecture can always be more in depth and interesting than a chapter in a 
book, and the subject is very interesting.
