Hi Shachar,

The people coming to the C lectures are not all regular Haifux people. Most of them are people I have not seen before, and started showing up to other Haifux activities. So these are lectures for a different audiance: by replacing lectures at such short notice, you may get the wrong people in the lecture, and more than that - disappointed people. (Not to mention that your lecture is not SIL at all, and tomorrow is a SIL lecture).

So, even if I am both the scheduler and the lecturer, in this case,
I would say that postponing 3 lectures, one in a really short notice, is quite a heavy thing (postponing this lecture, guy's lecture in two weeks, which throws light over memory, and the next C lecture, more about good programming).

I suggest we put the lecture for a vote, first,
and if people wish to hear it, we will see where we fit your schedule with Haifux's.

Subject: "Emergency" lecture about winbind

Abstract:
I wll try to explain how linux-sup has configured the new stations we
installed, so that they will have a "psedu-single-sign-on" system,
using winbind, NIS and pam-mount. I can also give some theoretical
background about these tools.
Sadly, I am going to be drafted to the IDF next sunday, so ether I
give this lecture tomorrow (sorry, there will be no slides, since I
don't have time to prepare them, I will just try to explain all the
magic we had done, using the source codes and config files). After
that, I am not sure when I will be available, since I wll be serving
my duties to the country.
Since the lecture scheduled to tomorrow is a C w/o spoon, which can be
postponed, can I get this slot?

  Regards,
Shachar (using boaz's account, please reply to raindel AT tx ... )
