Hello I am shopping for a new graphics card (PCI-e x 16) for a new computer, and I am asking for advice about the availability and stability of linux drivers. I have seen contradictory statements in some forums, so if someone has hands on experience, or heared some reliable info, I will be very thankful.
1. How are ATI vs Nvidia cards ? (in terms of stability, availability). This is the main question. 2. Are there good drivers for cards with VIVO connectors ? ( VIVO = video in and video out , this implies capture ability). 3. I wanted to buy the ATI X1900 card (it has VIVO), do you have any specific data about this card (Sapphire Radeon X1900GT 256MB)? I was told today that X1900 is out of production and there is a similar card with X1950 processor. Any info about this ?
