one of the ideas which came out of ApacheConEurope this year was that we need to start doing more to build an open cloud stack at apache. (yes, this has definitely been in the air for a while.) http://cwiki.apache.org/labs/cloudsapachecloudcomputingedition.html is an annotated version of the presentation which kicked this off.
but any apache stack shouldn't really be a fixed menu so, it needs to be integration and documentation: tying together development done elsewhere, helping users and new developers find their way around the concepts, and to work out what bits are missing and talk projects into filling them. the documentation strand has started in the Clouds lad with http://cwiki.apache.org/labs/clouds.html and a place in subversion where presentations can be checked in and worked on together it's still really only just getting going but i've outlined a page on hama (http://cwiki.apache.org/labs/cloudsapachehama.html) and wondered whether some people might like to contribute (whether just on Hama or more widely). apache committers are granted labs wiki karma on request so contribution's pretty easy. - robert
