I came across to read this thread at http://lucene.472066.n3.nabble.com/Hadoop-MPI-td3526396.html and MAPREDUCE-2911, which seems to have some relations to the ticket https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HAMA-468 except the part we may need is just i/o layer.
