The core problem with this is that all Haml sees is the evaluated Ruby code within the brackets. When you say [EMAIL PROTECTED] or [EMAIL PROTECTED]:updated_at]], all Haml gets is the Date object. It doesn't know what object it came from, and it doesn't know the name of the method/key used to get the value... it just knows about the Date.
