Has anyone used HAML/SASS to create SVG?

I have low-priority project in which I need to generate a lot of
diagrams. So far all my investigation is pointing me towards SVG. I
used HAML any chance I get, and I would absolutely love to use it for
creating SVG files. Something like SASS mixins (with arguments) would
make coding SVG files so much more DRY!

If this hasn't been done and isn't currently possible, is anyone
interested in starting a HAML/SASS sister project: Syntactically
Awesome Scalable Vector Graphics (SASVG)? I'd be willing to take the
lead if a few others are willing to pitch in and keep me motivated!

Cheers,
Paul Cortens
