Me too. I looked at an old project that had haml (2.2.17) frozen and it didn't have the gem.spec in the vendor/gems/haml dir.
I'm thinking that I want to uninstall and re-install all of my gems, but I'm not sure how to do this without destroying the Ruby install. Guess I'll have to do some searching for a how-to.
