Hi Nathan,
I still got the following error when I start the rails console:
/usr/local/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/haml-3.0.6/lib/haml/util.rb:267:in
`rails_root': ERROR: Rails.root is nil! (RuntimeError)

My gemfile is looking either like

gem "rails", :git => "git://github.com/rails/rails.git"
gem "mysql", '2.8.1'
gem "haml", '3.0.6'

or

gem "rails", '3.0.0.beta3'
gem "mysql", '2.8.1'
gem "haml", '3.0.6'

The workaround I found is to use the Sass --watch command and
specifying the path to my sass folder.
Thank you very much for taking the time to answer me.
Yannis
