Thank you for this information and set of suggestions (thought others
would find this useful):
Compass has environments. I don't know if you're using compass or not,
but if you are you can alter the behavior based on them. If you're in
a rails environment it should be preset for you, if your using the
compass CLI you can pass the -e option and you'll be able to inspect
it during config time.
For example. You can add this to your compass config:
unless environment == :production
sass_options = {:debug_info => true}
end
and then compile like so for production:
compass compile --force -e production
or like this for development:
compass compile --force
If you're using vanilla sass, you can alter the behavior according to
your rails environment files (assuming you're using rails)
