I apologize for the delay in responding, and the delay in addressing these issues.
The fundamental problems here are that I have limited time to address these issues, and that pull requests take a substantial amount of time to review and merge in. Another maintainer would help, but finding someone in whose code, decisions, and dedication I can place full faith is itself a difficult and time-consuming process. For now I plan to look at these pull requests when I have time (although frankly Sass bug-fixing is currently a more pressing concern).
