It would be good if something was done, but if nothing can be then I
think a spam-filled wiki is still better than no wiki.

It is a shame that it will be very hard to combine mailing list auth
with wiki auth (mailing list being run by lug.org.uk and there being
little access to its configuration being the major stumbling block to
that).

Still, one more password is much more acceptable than spam-filled
pages or no wiki at all.

I would ask that not too many features are hidden for
unauthenticated browsers. On some CMSes/wikis I have a hard time
using them because a lot of features are not present when not logged
in. e.g. some pages don't appear editable at all until you log in,
but this is not obvious in some cases.

I too have in the past been put off writing wiki pages due to the edits
not being accepted by the anti-spam code. I didn't realise this code
had gone.
