I do not mind the odd 'off topic' post, but what I do mind is the article claims (correctly) the impact that cracked/torrented availability of Windows does impact on the proportion of users not switching to linux. However the article fails miserably by not addressing that the biggest obstacle facing the switch to other operating systems is the end-users fear of change/the unknown. Yes some of these fears were realistic a few years ago (GUI etc etc) but have been proactively addressed in subsequent releases, case in point Ubuntu. My fiance who to be honest is a REAL end-user, switched to Ubuntu overnight, installed herself with ZERO problems. A few things that she had to get used to was more Open Office related, but that did not take long to learn. She is now a very proud Ubuntu user. This article is already two releases old :-) A lot has happened since 2007 (Gutsy Gibbon days).
