Well, the number that came out of nowhere in the article is definitely questionable. However, for your information, I do administrate a some-5000-ish members Viet forum (as some of you might know) - which is a general-purpose forum and doesn't have much to do with OSS or IT - and my numbers in Jan that I've just had from my reports can confirm the number mentioned in the article (see attachment). :D
As much as I feel "proud" of the raising awareness of Vietnameses on using Firefox, I still aware that the majority of the "IT masses" out there promoting the non-IT people using crackware and downloading those rapidshare dipshit. Just have a look at "IT newspapers" like e-chip or IT forums in Vietnamese and you'll understand what I'm talking about.
