Hi HNLuggers, After months of eating my own dog food to ensure its stability, I'm happy to invite you to eat my dog food -- a very handy tool, called Flash Magic v 10.01 "Bunny".
FlashMagic is a Live USB creation tool which has a collection of utilities for sysadmins including hard drive partitioning, partitions resizing,lost file/partitions recovering, hard drive imaging, windows/linux administrator passwords clearing, BIOSes upgrading, Linux/Windows/MacOS installations chainloading, securely hard drives wiping, bootloaders restoring, encrypted (TrueCrypt) hard drives reading,... Thanks to PartedMagic, DBAN, FreeDOS, Konboot,... All of them are legal and open source. The whole suite will occupy 100MB on your Flash Drive (and you can still store other data on your hard drive as a normal flash drive). However, the Linux USB Creation tool WILL WIPE YOUR USB FLASH DRIVE, so backup all your existing data on the USB Flash drive first. The Windows one doesn't but is a little bit dumber. Instructions: Download the version12e30 zipball from here: http://github.com/htruong/flashmagic/zipball/efc11209ef585fbf725d328139eea7b197b12e30 Unzip it, then run: $ sudo ./create-usb /dev/sdb (where sdb is your USB Flash Drive, again if you don't know what you're doing, you might accidentally wipe your own hard drive.) Note: You have to compile a newer version of Syslinux if you're using Ubuntu before you can issue ./create-usb. Ubuntu comes with a very old version of Syslinux, which doesn't work well. If you're using Windows, please run the create-usb.cmd file as administrator. You don't need to do anything. Your live USB drive will be ready to rock and roll.
