Hi,
There has been an enquiry from Albert Astals Cid ([email protected]), in
charge of coordination translation and development work at KDE, about
the present status of translating KDE to Vietnamese. Mrs Clytie Siddal
is the actual contact but is now too sick to continue along with all
the projects she is already involved in.
There is presently no Vietnamese team listed on this page:
http://l10n.kde.org/teams-list.php
And the KDE translation status is about 15% translated (out of a total
of 110747 strings):
http://l10n.kde.org/stats/gui/stable-kde4/team/vi/
Useful packages to be translated in priority could be kdebase, kdesk,
koffice etc.
So the question is: Is anyone interested in pushing further the
translation work of KDE ? If yes, please signal yourself on the
Hanoilug or the Du An Most mailing lists.
If there is a substantial number of people who wants to get involved,
we might get to create a team and I propose that the team leader could
then ask for a support grant from the MOST fund to enhance translation
(this still has to be approved by the MOST fund board of management,
of course).
Thanks for your attention.
