Yep, but you have to understand these hundreds mirrors — For hundreds
countries? Are we talking about the same country-wide mirrors? — will
decrease direct downloads by an order of… hundreds, may be thousands
or higher orders… So in the end it still is in their interest.

My point is that we would be aware of this _rare_ exception right
away, since a .tar.gz archive extraction would immediately bug out
if there was something wrong.

Also, dealing with exceptions is not always worth the time it
requires to set-up or the resources it consumes for this mater.

But, well, now I can only agree that I would have better used my time
to enhance my script for this exception handling instead of answering
those emails… ;-)
