The default rule of Copyright ownership when not specified is : the author owns the Copyright and the default license is “all rights reserved” which means we can't use it without asking the author. Now, when we are publishing something at a public place, it probably should belong to the public domain (= the author abandon its rights)… But I believe that's not the case by default… Still, IANAL! > 2. We should probably tell our members that they keep the ownership of their writings but that they also have to agree to the replication of their writings at multiple places like all web cache and indexers (like Google and others) and mailing-list archives (like pipermail, themailarchive, gmane, …).
