Certainly. We could create a page on the Hanoilug wiki. That would be much helpful for anyone new to Hanoi and looking for GNU/Linux enabled computer shops. By "enabled" I mean real working installations of GNU/Linux (like the ones coming with Acer Aspire One, Asus
EEePc, etc.).

This is from a really old thread....I was rummaging through the archives a bit and came across this interesting suggestion from about 2 years ago. Did anyone ever do this? I tried to search for "Shops" and "Stores" on the HanoiLUG Wiki, but was unable to find anything.

Does anyone have suggestions about Linux friendly shops in Hanoi and/or Saigon?

GNU/Linux friendly-shops means primarily operated or with GNU/Linux (more or less) friendly-persons.

Unfortunately, people come and go too. The same for shops !

This makes me think what about doing a survey wherever they are volunteers to take it on : Visit the shops, ask them if they know about GNU/Linux, if they sell computers with GNU/Linux, if they would be ready (or able to) install computers with GNU/Linux if customers were asking or interested in, etc.

It's fortunate that computer shops in HN and HCM City are usually concentrated in some areas that provide for a statistical population.

Anyone who wants to join in this kind of survey ? Even if I'm alone, I'll do it this summer !

Regards
