What are you talking about???  Of course Vim/Emacs is much more convenient
than Turing tapes, in my perspective!  Besides, the page you pointed to is not
yours (it's Mike Davey's -- see the footer) while I was requesting yours.  I
still don't get your point.

Perhaps I'm too dumb to see any connections between your Turing tape example,
a 20 year-old editor, and modern IDEs.  The only point I could merely grab is
about *time* (20 year-old something), and still that's nonsense in terms of
comparison.

(1) Turing machine vs. Vim/Emacs
(2) Vim/Emacs vs. modern IDEs

Clearly in (1), Vim/Emacs is **better** than Turing machine in terms of
performance and convinience.

I don't know which is **better** than which.  It depends on one's taste.
