Hmm. Here is the output from -vv :

HA-Proxy version 1.3.18 2009/05/10
Copyright 2000-2008 Willy Tarreau <[email protected]>

Build options :
  TARGET  = linux26
  CPU     = generic
  CC      = gcc
  CFLAGS  = -O2 -g
  OPTIONS = USE_REGPARM=1 USE_PCRE=1

vs

HA-Proxy version 1.3.14.11 2008/12/04
Copyright 2000-2007 Willy Tarreau <[email protected]>

Build options :
  TARGET  = linux26
  CPU     = generic
  CC      = gcc
  CFLAGS  = -O2 -g
  OPTIONS = USE_REGPARM=1 USE_PCRE=1

No apparent difference in buildopts. I could investigate the source rpm
though, if the transparent option should work even in 1.3.18?
