what are difference between stream_int_shutr/w and stream_sock_shutr/w

Hi,

    I'm confused why there are two pairs shutdonw functions?
    stream_int_shutr / stream_int_shutw
and
    stream_sock_shutr / stream_sock_shutw

   is this necessary? what are the difference between them?
