I'm completely new to this, just looking for any feedback to help me
along or help others.

I have hit an error installing HAProxy 1.5-dev14 on a Joyent
SmartMachine (Solaris).
I have openssl (0.9.8x) and zlib (1.2.7) and pcre (8.30nb2) and gcc
(4.7.0nb2) installed.

I ran:
gmake TARGET=solaris USE_STATIC_PCRE=1 USE_ZLIB=1 USE_OPENSSL=1

Which resulted in:
...
src/ssl_sock.c: In function 'ssl_sock_load_cert':
src/ssl_sock.c:445:28: error: 'NAME_MAX' undeclared (first use in this function)
src/ssl_sock.c:445:28: note: each undeclared identifier is reported
only once for each function it appears in
gmake: *** [src/ssl_sock.o] Error 1

I also tried this:
gmake TARGET=solaris USE_STATIC_PCRE=1 USE_ZLIB=1

Which results in this:
...
Undefined first referenced

collect2: error: ld returned 1 exit status

Any help is certainly appreciated, thank you.
