Thanks for the update!

Anyway in general, a proxy will not cause retransmission because the
proxy does not manipulate packets but streams from the TCP stack. And
since the stack advertises the remaining room as its receive window,
if the proxy stalls, the TCP stack will advertise zero-window packets,
saving the sender from any retransmit.

So when you see a retransmit, it's almost always a network issue, and
occasionally a TCP stack bug.
