Hello I don't understand your message. Reads to me as you had sone backend servers, some of them are down (according to the health check). I don't know what you mean by you 'wrote' then to the config file or by sent to down then working right later.
Please post the config file and detail what you saw and what you then changed and what result you are after. Read a few of the questions to the list that have been answered and you'll get the idea.
