I've also made some tests on your server and indeed could see some 408
responses, even on a simple test using apache bench for 10 keep-alive
requests in a range (using the server ip to hit the default virtualhost).
Interstingly, putting a haproxy on my laptop that receives the traffic
and sends it to your server, I don't see any more 408 nor TCP
retransmissions.
So, can you remove "option httpclose" from your configuration and let us
know when it's done ?
