When seeking for help, it's commonly accepted that questions should be much
larger than the expected responses, otherwise people tend to feel like they're
basically doing your job.

There is so little information in your question that I'm not suprized that
you got no more response. Nobody knows anything about your context, whether or
not the protocol is "NATable" (ie: does it transport network-later information
or not), etc... Note that you said "over TCP/IP". TCP/IP is a protocol suite,
it's not specifically TCP for example, so given that you said there are ports,
at least I'd guess it could be TCP, UDP or SCTP.

You didn't even take the time to provide a pointer to the protocol's specs, so
you seem to be hoping that people participating here for free will *work* to
offer you all the responses you need. That's not the way it works.

As was suggested, if there are any reasons why you don't deliberately refuse
to provide even the minimum amount of information that help people understand
your problem, it will take you less time to simply try it by yourself, it's
probably in the order of a few minutes to have something up and running. And
if it does not work at least you'll have something concrete to discuss.

Regards,
Willy
