It's the same for all stable branches. In general whenever there is something really critical or an accumulation of less important stuff over some time, we emit one. Often the few months following a major release cause all the team an intense work fixing various reported bugs, so we tend to miss some time to do releases often (or we don't see the time fly). I wanted to emit 1.8.4 this morning but got distracted by other much less interesting activities :-( I'll try again this afternoon. Cheers, Willy
