Hi, We all know that when we configure HAProxy in the Active-Passive manner then there is a VIP. Outside service will access the VIP and the traffic will be routed to appropriate inner services via Active Load Balancer.
I have configured one Active Load Balancer in Site 1 and Passive Load Balancer in Site 2, They are connected via LAN, Outside traffic will be routed through VIP. Now, my question is if the LAN connectivity between the Active-Passive HAProxy goes down will the VIP still exist? And if so, (1) The Active Load Balancer of Site 1 will still be active and Passive Load Balancer in Site 2 will still be Passive or (2) The Active Load Balancer of Site 1 will be Passive and Passive Load Balancer in Site 2 will be Active. Which one is correct?
