Thanks for the suggestion. I haven't tried HAProxy on pfSense but the working transparent config and related ipfw fwd rules we have did come from PiBa-NL [1]. Everything does function perfectly until a brief period with production traffic and something happens to cause the tproxy bind errors and request failures to start.
