I would prefer release ASAP and changes later.
If this is a v1.0 release I would prefer that such a basic function be
correct.
I think Marek has successfully applied some changes to his local copy
that Patrick suggested for the MSVC build, I would like to see those
committed as well.
I think that we should get as much right as we can.
