Hi Phil,
Please review/extend/proofread:
Have we made the decision to release or have another release
candidate.
Not yet. [ I'd personally vote for 1.0.0 now, but
discussion is welcome of course. ]
Are all of these changes confirmed to be working now?
Difficult to tell. Most of these were bugfixes addressing
problems in or since rc2, regarding mostly contrib or
non-mainstream (non-Win32/Linux) build compatibility.
I feel that we could probably go on with further bugfixes
for an indefinite time in these areas, but we should
draw a line if we ever want to release 1.0.0. We can delay
it now, but I personally see no strong reason to do it.
The feature set is complete, the core is stable, and we
may address further bugs with minor releases like 1.0.x,
if needed.
[ Also, resources are scarce and one release takes quite
a time and effort, and I personally pbly won't be able
to contribute binaries for another RC. ]
Brgds,
Viktor
