That's encouraging - my current version of the program that I want to write has been in use for years, but I wrote it using Xbase++ and it runs under Win98. It controls a Digital Video Recorder which is hidden and inaccessible. I am trying to change everything to Linux - hence this exercise. Cheers, Barry
