Viktor, I've used sometimes jEdit, it is written in java; I've used it on linux, macosx and lately on opensolaris.
I use it just as an editor, not a full ide. Best regards. Maurilio. PS. On windows and on OS/2 I use MED and I miss it every time I'm on an unsupported (by med) platform.
