Hello Angel Pais,
I felt really bad reading your mail.
That wasn`t the intention. Just a general warning. I've seen this happen
in xharbour.org. When there where few people all cimpiler developers and
useras shared a common place. When users questions raised then
developpers got tired of reading the same questions once and once again
and they oppened a new more "private" news groups with restricted access.
Guess what happened ? All the acction took place in the new list while
the old one started to die.
I joined this list advised by Pritpal Bedi, when I started using GTWVG and
faced many problems. IMHO, he advised me to join in this list, because my
queries may be helpful for betterment of the software, or I shall get
answers from "developers" like you. Thank you very much. I got many answers
and enlightened by experts.
That's good.
Now, when I heard about Pritpal's CacheRDD, I was also excited like all
"developers" (though I don't call myself as developer. I learned this down
to earth attitude from Pritpal, as he calls himself as a "Student").
I read this news not only from this mailing list, but also from xHarbour
group. When discussing about feasibility of CacheRDD, I heard about
PostgreSql from Xavi. I knew Sql, but as I didn't work with PostgreSql, I
want to learn politely about it from him. Is it my offense?
Previously I also posted my experimental results about printing with classic
DMP with help of Victor and others.
This is not a training nor users not learning list.
Its designed for Harbour developpers to exchanges goals, roadmaps and to
report possible compiler and contribs errors.
If we start contaminating this list this request for support then
developpers will find a more "private" media to communicate among them
and we will be out of even reading such enlightening discussions.
For your kind information, I never ask for any training for Harbour or
anything. I want to know about PosgreSql with Harbour only. (May I request
you check my all previous mails?)
May be this is a communication problem.
Maybe yes. English is noy my native languaje. I may sound rude, but that
was not the intention.
Also I want to say there`s no active mailing list o newsgroup for
harbour users that I know of, and that's a serious handicap.
Development is done with success but evangelism is null, so the world is
missing a wonderful tool.
I previously asked Pritpal to create a group for GTWVG. But, as he is very
busy, he advised me to post here about problems (most times these are really
problems)
One of the members of this group also asked for
One thing more, yes, I am a developer. At least you may find my very little
contribution in HMG and MiniGui Extended world, and as far I know, those
libraries depend upon Harbour also (MiniGui also has xHarbour version).
You are an application's developper (aka user).
This list is for harbour compiler and contribs developpers.
So, I am finally leaving this group.
Please don't. Just be carefull not to bloat this list.
Sorry Pritpal, Xavi, Victor all others who helped me. I regard you very
much. Best of luck. I am with you.
Regards.
Sudip
Once again, there were no offense intended. Nor invitation to leave the
list. Just a warning because I've seen this happen before.
A official newsgroup dedicated to this tool would be the ideal but we
need a sponsor we actualy don`t have. (Server, bandwidth, moderation,
etc are all expensive tasks )
Regards
Angel
