Avoiding memowrit() since it will append a Chr(26) which may cause problems.You can use the function hb_memowrit() in cpinfo.prg instead of the staticfunction write_file.
This tool has to work when compiled with Clipper, too, so I couldn't use hb_memowrite() here.
