Okay that clears it up. IMO TYPE() should be enough for this purpose, given that it works, and in Harbour it apparently does. (I even use it for such purpose). Anyway if we can make a dedicated function which offers something more, or better, we can add such extension. Although just for the sake of it, I wouldn't create redundancy.
