This is a known behavior on *nixes. Application is started as a daemon.
I do not know how to cover it. A GUI application will show up for sure.

Yep. This is the behavior implemented.
"Set as current" has nothing to do with "Project Properties" elements.
Dowble-click on a node tells it to populate the elements therein.
It will stay as is.


Your initial question was that it mangles project files.
I believe you wanted to say, other projects files, correct ?
If yes, the query is over.
