Bangladesh Betar is awarded with Independent Award2006 by Bangladeshi
Government for its outstanding contribution in the liberation war of Bangladesh
in 1971. In 1971 the staffs of Bangladesh Betar established a radio station
named Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra at Kalurghat, Chittagong to raise the
feelings of Bangladeshi people. For its kind contribution Bangladeshi Prime
Minister Begum Khaleda Zia awarded Bangladesh Betar Independent Day Award on 24
March 2006. The DG of Bangladesh Betar received the award on behalf of the
team.
