I think in world-geography book, PNG is in Oceana group, but what we call
Irian-Jaya (western PNG) is part of Indonesian Archipelago, absolutely
belonging to Asia, because Indonesia is in south-east Asia region.

You are correct about PNG belonging to Oceania. But it might be only
radiowise, because, for example, the (Finnish) geography books belonging to
my 10-, 14- and 16-yr sons do not recognize Oceania.
To my children, PNG is in (Pacific) Asia.
We collide with terms every day. Some terms meaning this in one occasion
are
that in another.
I tend to think as a radio enthusiastic, so PNG is a part of Oceania to me.
