Ciao,
after I read Anker Petersen's report about 2 and 3 May I tried to listen to R
Bayrak too. The channel was free, no University Network or others at this time
0130-0240 but old pop songs no stop e some ids "... Radio Bayrak". No
"International" heard.

6150,05v 4 may 0130-0240 Radio Bayrak, Cyprus, old pop songs, few ids "...Radio
Bayrak". No "International" heard in the id. Fading, low voice modulation, fair
signal. The channel was free.

Radio listening has increased: PBC

Radio Pakistan is the prime source on information and
entertainment for nearly ten million Pakistanis,
almost 34 per cent of the country's adult population.
This was stated by a spokesman for the Pakistan
Broadcasting Corporation (PBC). This, he said, was
based on a survey conducted by Gallup of Pakistan to
assess the number of radio listeners and the type and
pattern of radio listening in the country.

This increase in radio listening, he added, was mainly
attributable to wide-ranging reforms and improvements
brought about in the programme fare and news
presentation as indeed in the working environment for
both employees and artists of the PBC.

The PBC had set for itself a new vision to meet the
challenges of cultural and political invasion
unleashed by foreign broadcasting stations, he noted.
